Advanced PC Configuration, Troubleshooting and Data Recovery

A 4-Day Hands-on Course

This advanced hands-on course covers a number of key topics which IT personnel need to be familiar with in order to provide a first class support service. The course concentrates on skills needed to configure and troubleshoot Windows based computers in a networked environment and includes sections on:  
   Data Recovery;  
   Troubleshooting methodology  
   Networking with TCP/IP  
   Disk configuration  
   Windows 9x and Windows NT/2000/XP

Hands-on
This is a hands-on course allowing you to become familiar with many of the tasks needed to work in a modern IT environment followed by hands-on session to illustrate each concept The course is structured to give you ample opportunity to learn, practice and perfect the skills which you need but which are not easily picked up in the work environment.

 

Prerequisites
Participants are assumed to be familiar with basic hardware concepts and troubleshooting such as are covered in our Technical Support for PCs course.

 

Who should attend  
Support and Help Desk Personnel. Providing effective support involves understanding the hardware as well as the software.

LAN Administrators A good understanding of the hardware is a real benefit to LAN supervisors.

UNIX Support As the PC becomes the standard desktop computer many UNIX professionals need to include an understanding of PC hardware and systems among their skills.

A+ is the industry-recognised certification for IT personnel who configure and troubleshoot PCs. This course helps you prepare for the core and operating systems sections of the A+ exam.
